About the Course
The Student First Aid course will provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid treatment confidently and safely. The course is suitable for students aged 11 years and over and fulfils the requirements of the Department for Education in respect of statutory first aid training
First aid training is now compulsory in all state funded schools in England as part of health education, which became a mandatory subject from September 2020.
This initiative is designed to ensure that students develop the critical skills and confidence needed to respond effectively in a variety of emergency situations. As part of this curriculum, students learn essential techniques, including how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), treat wounds, handle burns and manage other common injuries.
The Student First Aid qualification provides a structured framework for this training, equipping learners with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. By meeting the Department for Education’s requirements, this program aims to empower young people with life-saving abilities, fostering a generation better prepared to protect themselves and others in times of need.
